Village Earth
has a mission to achieve sustainable village-based development by connecting communities with global resources through training, consulting and networking with organizations worldwide. They provide courses in community-based development from MicroCredit and Watershed Management to Developing Regional Service Centers. Village Earth also offers an on-line and CD library featuring the best in sustainable rural development and appropriate technology sourcebooks and resource materials.

The Sustainable Village
distributes over 10,000 appropriate technology products, directly to end-users as well as acting as an agent for large organizations. They also organize training workshops in developing countries for microenterprise development and have a graphics division for web and print work (www.villagealliance.com). In the case of all three, they charge organizations that can afford these services and use 100% of all the profits to donate/invest/help under-funded NGO's.

The Institute for Integrated Rural Development (IIRD)
provides courses, and teaches women to be trainers in organic agriculture. IIRD provides support for the more than 5000 organic home gardens that have been established in the project area.

The Global Ecological Restoration and Development Foundation (GERDF)
is developing a plan to reforest and restore the natural environment in Inner Mongolia, which has experienced increasing levels of desertification in recent years, GERDF is bringing in Green Angel eco-restoration technlology, which is the best technology to solve the problem of desertification and dry land in the world for the time being. GERDF is planning a Conference to be held in Beijing in April of 2003 in order to raise awareness and build support at the national level for projects that can effect the entire region.

Restore the Earth
is an International Project of Trees for Life, an award-winning conservation charity working to restore the indigenous Caledonian Forest in Scotland. This North/South initiative hosted a recent international conference which declared this the Century of Restoring the Earth, and currently seeks UN support for this declaration at the WSSD (World Summit on Sustainable Development).
